BEST Lab Undergraduate Charlotte Paley Receives Allport Prize
Congratulations to Charlotte Paley, a graduating senior in the BEST Lab! Charlotte received the Gordon W. Allport Prize for her senior honors thesis—How Weight-Based Discrimination “Gets Under the Skin”: Testing a Biopsychosocial Mediation Framework in a Longitudinal, Population-Based Study of Young Adults. The prize is awarded by the Department of Psychology for theses of exceptional quality in scholarly areas to which the late Gordon W. Allport was dedicated, including the study of prejudice.
In addition to receiving the Allport Prize, Charlotte was one of less than a hundred seniors recently inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s oldest honor society.
Following graduation, Charlotte will attend the Bryn Mawr College Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program. Her thesis was supervised by Dr. Hatzenbuehler and co-supervised by Nathan Hollinsaid.
